Alertness Levels

 

    Stay a head of conflicts by staying alert.

    When people are confronted by a violent individual sometimes they freeze up and are unable to defend themselves as a result of shock. This sometimes happens to seasoned martial artists. 

    Increasing ones awareness of his environment can help you react faster and easier. Here I have  created five levels of awareness. Ensure that you are in the appropriate alertness level for the surroundings you are in to improve your awareness.

  1. Totally relaxed - sitting on your couch at home.
  2. Walking through a public mall or residential street during the day.
  3. Walking through a night club.
  4. Somebody threateningly steps in front of you.
  5. Somebody raising there hands to strike you.

    The problem is people walk around in a bar with an awareness level of #1 carefree and relaxed as if they were home when they should be at level 3 possibly 4 depending on the bar.
